Screenwriter, actor, producer and LGBTQIA activist Lena Waithe is a creator who’s taken Hollywood by storm. In 2017 Waithe made history as the first Black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the “Thanksgiving” episode of Netflix's Master of None—which was loosely based on her experience coming out to her family. ⁠⁠
